The Encino Chamber of Commerce recognizes that teachers are our most precious resource. To show our appreciation, for the efforts of all teachers in the community, the Chamber will recognize the outstanding performance of one teacher from each of our local schools. This year the Encino Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual “Teacher of the Year” awards dinner on Thursday March 26th at 5:00 pm (program will start at 5:30 p.m.) at the Hilton Woodland Hills (NOT the Marriott).
We would like your school to select one person who will represent as your “Teacher of the Year”. To be fair to all teachers, please do not nominate someone who has been selected in the past or will be retiring at the end of this school year. If we find that they have previously been nominated or retiring, they will be disqualified. Please involve your teachers, staff, parents, and any others who are regularly involved with your school in making your selection. The nomination should come directly from you as principal.
All finalists will receive special recognition and awards for his/her outstanding efforts and contributions in the field of education. The Encino Chamber of Commerce will honor the teachers with a monetary award designated for the purchase of items for his/her classroom. The teacher your school selects will be a finalist for the “Encino Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award.”
A panel of business and community representatives will select and judge the overall outstanding teacher that has demonstrated most to education. All school finalists must be able to attend this event. You will have no more than two minutes to introduce your nominee on stage and tell the room of their accomplishments. We hope that other staff, parents, family and any other supporters from your school will join us to honor your nominee. The nominee and principal will each receive (1) complimentary ticket. All others are $45.00.
“Teacher of the Year” applications are due in the Chamber office no later than: Friday, February 6th. NO EXTENSIONS will be honored and the judging committee will not review incomplete applications. Enclosed please find the application. We look forward to seeing you at our event.
